Malaysia's EON Bank Group has contracted with Hewlett Packard for the supply and implementation of an IP-based telephony system at its customer call centre.
According to local press reports, the HP system is expected go live by the end of the year.
The bank's group CEO Albert Lau Yiong told reporters that the new technology was expected to improve customer services, while reducing telecommunication costs.
EON says the IP-based infrastructure will allow multi-channelling of telephone, Web, SMS, e-mail, text chat and video communications as well as providing a collection point for business and customer intelligence.
