The new facility has the capacity to scale to more than 30 million Internet customers, says S1, and is built on open system-based servers. The centre hes been launched to offer network and customer quality monitoring, disaster recovery and support services to users of S1's eFinance Internet banking package. The US-based company is currently targetting the top 200 banks in Europe.

Stuart Granger, vice president, European hosting services, comments: "By using the S1 Centre to execute their eFinance offerings, S1 clients can service their own customers more effectively, whilst retaining critical control of the decision making process. The fact that they have access to expert staff and state-of-the art technology, can result in a much improved long term service to their customers."
