Trintech and Visa have entered a strategic partnership to jointly develop secure payment solutions for mobile commerce.
The alliance features as part of Trintech's launch of PayWare mAccess, a payment solution designed specifically for mobile devices. PayWare mAccess allows for "one touch" payment and real time authentication of shoppers on the move. The system uses automatic form filling and PIN codes to ease the online payments process.
Under the agreement with Visa, Trintech will work to support stronger authentication mechanisms including smart cards and the SET Secure Electronic Transaction standard. The two companies also pledge to build support for new payment types, such as PIN based debit.
Under its new 3-Domain model, Visa recently mandated the application of strong SET-based authentication procedures for European banks and merchants.
