O'Connell, who played a pivotal role in promoting the initial approach and subsequent acquisition of Staffware by Tibco in June last year, will in future operate as a 'strategic consultant' to the Tibco executive management team. The move will also free him to pursue other non-executive roles outside Tibco.

Tibco's £122.8 million acquisition of Staffware melded the former's middleware expertise with the latter's workflow capabilities, propelling the merged entity into the coveted business process management space.

The vendor says full assimilation of Staffware personnel into the Tibco sales and engineering machine has now been completed under the umbrella branding of the Tibco BPM group.
