UK life insurer Norwich Union is teaming with IBM Business Consulting Services to overhaul its business services division.
Under the two and a half year contract, a team of specialists from IBM will work with NU staff in an effort to transform the division, which provides internal consulting and IT application development and maintenance to the rest of NU's business.
As part of the initiative, IBM staff will work with business services to improve processes and stimulate the unit's culture, organisation design, people management, skill development and resource deployment capabilities.
The success of the initiative will be measured in part by Norwich Union's success in attaining PCMM level 3 (People Capability Maturity Model) and CMMI level 3 (Capability Maturity Model Inegration) certification.
