The FIX Protocol Ltd member community has more than 125 member firms globally, including buy-side and sell-side firms, exchanges, and vendors.

As chair of the trade association education committee, Pickles will act as a coordinator for FPL activities within Europe.

Radianz, an active member of FPL since it opened up its membership to vendors in 2003, claims to offer the largest FIX network in Europe for securities traffic, with more than 1000 FIX connections.

Ownership of the financial extranet is set to be transferred from founding venture partners Reuters and Equant to new parent BT early next year. The firm is expected to play up its FIX credentials as it goes head-to-head with interbank association Swift for a share of securities industry message traffic.
