US-based mobile commerce software vendor Qpass has acquired Dublin-based payments technology firm Altamedius.
Qpass says the acquisition demonstrates its commitment to the European market and adds Altamedius' payments and stored value technology to its mobile commerce portfolio.
The Altamedius iCon system combines Ewallet and SVA technology and supports multiple payment-centred applications such as mobile payments, micro payments, macro payments and person-to-person payments. Altamedius customers include Vodafone, HVB Group, and Bank of Ireland.
The vendor was ranked fourth in the Deloitte & Touche Technology Fast 50 programme for the second year running in 2003, but has struggled to win new customers this year.
Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
