Eftpos vendor Ingenico has won a contract to supply 30,000 payment terminals and PIN pads to Canadian financial group Desjardins.
Ingenico will supply the group with its i3500 PIN pad and the i5300 terminal range, which is fully compliant with EMV security and interoperability standards for smart cards. Both products are based on the vendor's UNICAPT 32 technology, which manages all transaction applications independently.
Ingenico will also provide Desjardins with a terminal download management system, which will be integrated with the bank's host systems.
Commenting on the products, Pierre Lemay, director, Desjardins Group, says: "They satisfy the high level of security demanded within the Canadian EMV standard and they provide the level of performance that we require."
