ING Direct is to create over 300 new jobs in Cardiff, Wales, with the opening of a call centre to cater for its expanding UK customer base.
Since its UK launch in May 2003, ING Direct has signed up nearly 700,000 customers for its online savings account.
The 38,000sq ft call centre will open for business in March 2005 and will be located on prime real estate in the heart of Cardiff city centre.
ING Direct's investment is backed by Regional Selective Assistance grant aid from the Welsh Assembly Government.
Economic Development Minister Andrew Davies says: "Research to be published very soon shows that staff turnover at Welsh call centres is the lowest in the UK - while staff salaries have overtaken the UK average."
