The Coventry Building Society has overhauled its Web sites using Microsoft's .Net technology.
The new environment has been supplied by Microsoft partner BJSS, and uses Web services and a combination of Microsoft technologies including the .Net Framework, ASP.Net and SQL Server 2000.
The society says the .Net technology will enable it to launch new products and services for customers more rapidly. Coventry has already added an online offset mortgage quotation and sales system, which was developed and launched in just four months. The application replaces four disparate quote systems previously used on the site.
The online calculator is also being used to generate quotes by in-branch staff. Integration with back-end systems is allowing Coventry to scan images of customer signatures, which speeds up mortgage processing times.
Andrew Voysey, director of financial services at Microsoft UK, says: "Coventry Building Society's implementation of .Net clearly demonstrates the value of Microsoft technology in enabling financial institutions to deliver new products to market quickly, easily and at a low cost."
