LSE expands Level 1 market data service

The London Stock Exchange (LSE) is extending the scope of market intelligence and data available over its Level 1 information service.

Level 1 Plus was launched last year as a real-time data offering targeted at fund managers, wholesale and private client brokers that want to upgrade from the Exchange's existing entry-level data product.

The service is being expanded to offer enhanced market intelligence in addition to the real-time data already available, including daily updates of the top five firms by dealing volume for each UK listed security including AIM and IOB securities as well as Citywire's BrainsTrust index and fund manager performance data.

Argus Vickers shareholder information is also included, providing the top 5 holders in each security, including fund manager name, percentage holding, number of shares held and previous number of shares held.

Users will also have access to risk and performance measures including daily updates of alphas, betas and performance information at security level and continually updated information on the market capitalisation and P/E ratio of each security.

David Lester, chief information officer, LSE, says: "Following research among our existing client base, it was clear that there was a desire for an increased level of market intelligence. Level 1 Plus combines all of the functionality of Level 1, with an enhanced level of data that we know will help our customers with their trading and investment decisions."
