Morgan Stanley outsources global help desk to Siemens

Siemens Business Services has secured a five-year IT services contract to provide global consolidated help desk and desk-side support for 22,000 Morgan Stanley institutional securities employees, as well as other select areas of the firm.

The contract broadens an existing agreement with Morgan Stanley in North America to take in desks in Asia Pacific and Europe. Service enhancements include the establishment of Global Program Management, a Continuous Improvement Office and increased contracted levels of service.

Jessica Gorman Taylor, managing director, Morgan Stanley, states: "Our global business demands an integrated solution that delivers peak performance to support our diverse technologies."

She estimates that, at current call levels, Morgan Stanley will see "material savings" from a consolidated outsourcing effort.
