GBM will deliver and deploy IBM's eServer pSeries servers running the AIX operating system as well as create a storage area network (SAN) based on IBM's Fast storage technology. WebSphere will be implemented to support the bank's online services.

The IBM infrastructure will be used to run i-flex solutions' core banking software, Flexcube, which will replace multiple inhouse systems running on the bank's legacy infrastructure.

Steven Dickens, COO, ADCB, says the hardware will be implemented by the end of 2004 and will be used by up to 1000 staff across 37 branches.
