Bayern Card Services, a payments card subsidiary of Germany's Bayerische Landesbank (BayernLB) and Bavarian savings banks, has implemented Arcot's TransFort 3-D Secure Issuer software to deliver MasterCard SecureCode online authentication services to its cardholders.
Bayern Card Services handles the credit card business of the Bayerische Landesbank, Deutsche Kreditbank and 82 Bavarian savings banks.
The company has completed a roll-out of MasterCard SecureCode card user authentication to all its 500,000+ customers. The system require a cardholder making online purchases to verify their identity with a password.
Martin Bock, marketing consultant at Bayern Card Services, says: "We wanted to remove any fear that our cardholder customers might have about purchasing goods and services online."
