Postbank, the retail banking arm of the German post office, is to offer mobile banking services via T-Mobile hand sets.
The bank will offer T-Mobile Deutschland customers a range of portable banking services including routine balance enquiries, money transfers, stock market news and portfolio management. For a three-month introductory period users may also subscribe to receive free SMS messages on their account status from Postbank direkt - the bank's financial portal.
T-Mobile subscribers will be able to access the bank's services via the company's t-zone multimedia portal, and top up their Xtra pre-paid cards at the Postbank Web site or via its network of cash machines.
