Brazil-based Tecnologia Bancária (TecBan), a switching company that runs the national Banco24Horas ATM network, has contracted with NCR for the supply of the vendor's new Personas 67 cash machines, which are customised for the local market.
NCR will supply the units from its new ATM manufacturing facility in Sao Paulo.
The Personas 67 is a multimedia ATM suited to both high-volume interior locations such as bank branches, as well as offsite locations. Design features include a bar-code reader and a safe manufactured to meet Brazilian security requirements.
Commenting on the deal, Keith Taylor, SVP of NCR's financial solutions division, says: "Brazil is a growing market where the banks' ATM needs are increasing. Whether it is to replace an existing in-bank branch ATM or to meet the needs of the expanding off-premise market, we anticipate that the Personas 67 will prove popular with our existing and potential new customers in Brazil."
