Charles Schwab is providing private investors with electronic access to real-time pricing and trading for US treasury securities following the implementation of a link to online fixed income platform eSpeed.
The two companies served notice of the arrangement in May 2000, and have recently completed necessary technology and systems installations.
"We've completed the first phase of our connection between Schwab and eSpeed's systems for US treasury offerings," says John Ladensack, senior vice president of fixed income at Charles Schwab. "Now retail customers have a line to institutional prices with the click of the mouse. While our relationship with eSpeed begins with treasuries and agencies, it has the potential to expand to other fixed income products."
