Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) Financial Group is implementing SAS' data management software to comply with global anti-money laundering regulations.

RBC Financial licenses SAS for AML compliance

RBC will use SAS' system to automate the process of screening customer names against lists of known or suspected terrorists issued by authorities.

Using data quality technology from SAS subsidiary, DataFlux, RBC will be able to replace its manual screening processes, automate alerts and minimise the number of false positives.

Karim Rajwani, enterprise designated anti-money laundering officer, RBC Financial Group, says: "We are committed to ensuring compliance with our legal obligations under relevant anti-terrorism legislation, while respecting the privacy rights of our clients."
