Bundesverband der Deutschen Volksbanken und Raiffeisenbanken (BVR), the parent company of the German co-operative movement, has deployed Docent's Enterprise learning and performance management software across its 1500 member banks.
The software was implemented by HP Education Services and is being used to teach over 100,000 staff about new practices, policies and guidelines, including the forthcoming Basel II regulations.
Martin Greff, product manager at Akademie Deutscher Genossenschaften (ADG) - BVR's main training division - says the system allows users to train over the Internet which saves travel time and also helps "ensure that we are more effectively managing risk and continuously improving our financial practices".
California-based Docent says the financial services industry in Europe represents a significant area of opportunity for its learning and performance management products.
