With several of its businesses developing their own Web initiatives, Refco says it was looking for a way to manage customer access and provide authentication across multiple domains.

RSA Security's ClearTrust software allows firms to regulate the type of information each user is able to access and to centrally managing user identities, authentication policies and user privileges across multiple applications.

Prior to installing the system, Refco customers had to complete multiple forms to access online services, and approval took two to three days. Now there is just one application which can be reveiwed by staff within six hours.

Frank Stearns, Web development manager, Refco Group, says: "RSA ClearTrust software helps us protect our customers' personal financial information and improve their overall online experience.

"At the same time, it also has allowed us to streamline our own administration and application processing."
