The Thaler banking engine covers all central administrative functions such as customer information management, accounting and risk management. The package also contains securities, treasury, loans, deposits and payments applications

Mok Chung Wing, head of IT, Bank Sarasin-Rabo, comments: "As customer needs become increasingly sophisticated, we need a solid and yet flexible banking engine to manage intensive demands and processes."

Wing says the system was implemented in nine months and since going live the bank has seen an improvement in data security control and staff are able to prepare business analysis reports more easily.

Belgium-based C&W recently established its Asia Pacific headquarters in Singapore.
