At S&P, Lait will be responsible for sales and customer management across the business, which includes the firm's non-credit market information and analytic services, covering indices, funds and equities.

Lait has spent the past nine years working for Thomson Financial where she was most recently European sales director. She left Thomson suddenly earlier this year only a few months into her new job, which was created during a mammoth restructuring of the financial information group's European operations.

Prior to this she set up and headed the strategic accounts team and also worked within the database group, ultimately taking on the role of managing director at Thomson Financial's investment banking division.

Before joining Thomson Financial, Lait held roles at Computasoft and at Euromoney Publications.
