Countdown to CLS

Countdown to CLS

Source: City Networks, Nedbank

With just four months to upgrade its treasury systems to deal with CLS third party membership, South Africa's Nedbank chose to implement City Networks' Gateway System.

Its advantage from Nedbank’s perspective was that it was a ‘middleware’ solution outside the core treasury system. As such it represented a virtual plug and play system that Nedbank believed would save crucial time compared with a new treasury system containing an inbuilt CLS capability.

A key factor in the choice of CityNetworks was the fact that it had already been successfully deployed by the first third-party client to go live with Nedbank service provider HSBC, having been developed following co-operative work with HSBC in the formative days of CLS.
