The Federal Reserve Bank of Boston explores the technology and security considerations for mobile contactless payments at the point-of-sale.

The paper highlights some of the panel discussions at a recent mobile workgroup meeting at the Boston Fed. The primary objective of the meeting was to gain a better understanding of which technologies will likely prevail for mobile contactless payments in the US - near field communication, cloud, or QR codes — with many companies hedging their bets on all options.
