A Look at the Exploding World of Fintech - On Demand Webcast

A look at the expanding and exploding world of FinTech – a Finextra webcast with Yodlee Interactive

  • When: On Demand

With changing demographics and technology morphing by the minute, the traditional banking community is undergoing a seismic shift. Simply put, advances in digital offerings combined with the innovations from non-bank fintech service providers have collided head on with the grip traditional banks have held for so long — opening up tremendous opportunities and challenges along the way.

While all this technological change is happening, a new generation of banking customer is also emerging and creating a new challenge for the banking sector. Millennial’s as well as other digitally savvy consumers are increasingly drawn to emerging financial technologies and non-bank services that are at the forefront of change in this sector. Recently a new line of thinking has emerged, one that sees a more interwoven and collaborative future for financial services: a shifting ecosystem, which includes traditional banks and new ‘Fintech’ players all working together to deliver a more robust and personalized experience to customers.

To examine this new reality, Finextra gathered a team of thought leaders to discuss banking, the digital future and rise of a new normal for FinTech.

  • Ron Shevlin, Senior Analyst, Aite Group
  • Brigid Whoriskey, Head of Research & Innovation, RBS
  • Valentin Stalf, CEO of Number 26
  • Joe Polverari, Chief Strategy & Development Officer, Managing Director, Yodlee Interactive

Our panel discussion includes an introductory presentation by senior Aite Group analyst, Ron Shevlin looking at ‘How society will view banks in the future?’ followed by a debate, where our speakers discuss:

  • How will society view banks in the future?
  • How will banks work with APIs to take advantage of enhancements in digital technology?
  • What are the goals of the non-bank entrants - is it still to disrupt traditional banking?
  • Why is it so hard for banks to take advantage of data on customer behaviour to respond with tailored products and services?
  • Can existing banking regulation ever be a friend to innovation?
