As long as there are those queues of people, those locations will have charged cash withdrawal facilities.
I hate the things. Often they are deviously marked and in the routine of tapping thorugh the screens you miss the warning which comes 'after' you have entered all the credentials.
In the UK at least, many people see the LINK branding and assume its a free ATM.
You should never need to use a chargeable ATM since many shops, even small ones, operate the cashback system. Buy something for a small amount and add cash onto the transaction.
What would be better would be if all Post Offices in the UK could issue cash. Or ideed perform many other banking transactions which they seem to be prevented from offering - do the banks fear the PO high street presence still?

I was about to post about Verified by Visa and Matercard SecureCode (and may still do so), but its related to passwords and in particular your part about 'forgotten passwords'.
So, I am not a fan of VbV or SecurCode. The only reason seems to be to protect Visa and Mastercard, not the consumer and not the Merchant. IMO, they add inconvenience, distrust and complexity to online transactions. Not to mention I think they are INSECURE. So do others, apparently: http://news.slashdot.org/story/10/01/28/195216/Why-Verified-By-Visa-System-Is-Insecure
Having just merrily typed 3 complete passwords into VbV (which I am not happy about doing), I was transferred to the VbV Password Reset workflow. This 'challenges' me for such secure information as my DOB and Postcode! Then allows me to input a new VbV password. Anyone with a copy of my Visa card can go through this process and then happily do CNP purchases as me.
Its pathetic. No matter how secure my original password was.

Just a comment that secureCode and VbV drives me mad. Its like entering the purchase auth details all over again and ALWAYS makes me suspicious - I always suspect phishing. I try to avoid it, so that's one way of cutting fraud - cut convenience.

A week or so in, and I think its clear there are many more comments. Many of them anonymous and many of them constuctive ;)
So far so good then.

Don't you just hate that. Probably its the only way they can make money out of doing this. O2 will not be sharing anything with the firm and Barclays just need an 'agent' to get to market. So these companies are akin to Utilities Billers who sit between you and the service, taking some skin.
I guarantee you leave credit on this account - let us know.

Yep. I noticed that. Just doing periodic housekeeping will be updated to your contacts in a LinkedIn activity update. Always makes me think someone is looking for a change when they start getting recommendations added!
There has also been a case of phantom Connection Requests lately - some people will auto 'accept' these giving instant access to their contacts list without checking.

That's funny. But seriously, that's letting the bad guys get to you! You put some doubt in the cabbie's mind, but you are just as likely to be burgled by regular thieves.
I have a driveway, and I own a spare car, so although I never get cabs (live in the country) there is always a car in the driveway when I leave. CCTV is also a good deterrent, especially a webcam based one which is becoming more real these days - once captured, there is no tape machine or hard drive for the crook to take.
The ultimate deterrent - there's simply not that much to take!

Brett,
Another post of yours that achieved a large viewing. I guess that also demonstrates the power of Apple and iPad - everyone wants to ready about it and it pops up on Google as a result?
Apple Bank? That's an idea. But will it sell devices?
