Surely if people can't swim, there would be a lot of drownings. Ships can capsize in the harbout.. just needs bad weather. Your examples make no sense. As for your problem soltution - clearly you have no idea. If they bank allows fraud to take place, they the back that allowed the fraud should be liable.

Ahh.. it's a conspiracty theory. That makes sense. Stupid me to think that this is a legitimate case. Not sure thare are "Zillions" of builders in the world and certianly not in the UK, the country this releates to. Fraud also means "wrongful or criminal deception intended to result in financial or personal gain" so once again, you show you lack of knowledge in this area.

Love this idea but in the UK, for instance, over 50% of devices are iOS. Plus, if I read the standards correctly, everyone that uses an SDK has to then certify the app via a security lab incuring more cost to do so. For many app developers this makes it a very expensive way of accepting payments.

Mostly accurate but on the topic if PIN. There is a standard coming for PIN acceptance for CPoC and we expct this to see then by end of Q3 this year. In addition, you should consider the opportunities offered by the use of SDK;s that vendors such as Phos provide to those app developers looking to create a new payment experience inside their application. This is not just about acceptenca at the point of sale, but far wider payment acceptance using contactless technology.

Melvin, it still means that if I want to use my UK issued card, to make a purchase outside of the UK, the card issuer will still need to provide SCA of some sort

It means the retail sector didn't understand and did nto take the time to actually find out. Why have other markets, Scandinavia for instance, said they will be ready>

5000 respondees.. not exactly representitive. I have Monzo, Starling, Barclays, RBS installed. I'd not rate Monzo or Starling about either of the other two

And yet, only yesterday on this very website we read that digital banks are losing their appeal - https://www.finextra.com/newsarticle/31769/digital-only-banks-losing-their-appeal - and whilst awards are nice, they don't make up for the fact people perceive the traditional banks as being a safer place to keep their money and protect their data. I, probably like most here, have accounts wiht a lot of the new digital entrants but still revert back to a traditional bank for my main banking transactions. They've a way to go yet.

@james Amdrew - UBER is not yet banned. It's had its licence revoked but until the appeals process is exhausted, it's free to carry on as usual.
