About time the Cloud concerns on security were addressed and this is a good start. Hopefully more positive discussions on benefits will now start without getting bogged down on security

Really no point the EU going this wau unless its forms part of a global standard. I had hoped that the sensible aproach would win and international agreement before inflicting the rules. More problems will emerge with the EU taking this route

Hey, who would deal on a site without tight security? Security or not is not an option. Every site must be as secure as possible and there is no trade off. Its a great way to lose your business though

Monopoly no but standards yes. Sadly when we talk standards we tend to talk in decades rather than years. Surely we can have a competing market of entities that compete on a service/price level not on some historicle stagnent position. The technology is there the need of society but those in situ are failing. Obvious threat is a third party entrant. There are loads of possibilities there. So do nothing looks not an option.
Enjoy the City Chris and the odd jenever

It might be a good idea to join this up with LEI and other projects to identify the corporate/consumer. There needs to be more consumer involvment and prevent or limit concerns arround Big Brother

In real terms this is rapid progress and we should see more details rolled out throughout this year. FS firms must plan for this project this year with databases and account opening and other processes ammended. There is enough information to start planning. Its likely to be a very fast end as LEI hits the global markets. So dont get caught with your firms pants down

Very interesting development for ACI and one that could bring rich rewards if this can be an integrated business and service. E-Bam?

On the whole this is good news for Facebook with the expected and natural move into new commercial offerings showing a positive. It was never going to be just about advertising and it looks like Facebook is moving in the right direction. More good and bad new to come but looking good overall

This is the tip of the iceberg and a example of how dangerous the market is with liquidity tight in collateral and cash. The major banks must find a netting solution between themselves

Its a real worry that this research shows that SEPA is still not getting anywhere fast. We need a league table of banks ready and corporates at the starting rope. Could also do with some performence data of banks and corporates. Lets make it all visible
