There are laws in place protecting consumers and making consumers responsible as well. Since when did lazy and stuipid make it ok to avoid legal responsibility? How is it that you people are saying this is OK? Its not ok and you and everyone else should adhere to the rules.
I lock my doors, I check my statements, I have systems in place and I take responsibility. The sooner everyone does the better their life will be, instead of blaming someone else for thier problems. How did this post turn into this?
No matter what technology we introduce there will always be some responsibility in behalf of the end user to protect themselves from whatever risk/reward there is as a result of the conveneience. You carry money, there is a chance you will be bonked on the head.
This is it, these are the cards we have been dealt, nobody is going to take care of you, stop blaming some big company or governement for your problems. Take responsibility.

I subscribe to BillGuard, and I check my statements. The responsibility falls with me.

Anonymous commenter, its scary to know that a reader of Finxetra, like you, who is probably in the financuial industry, makes a statement such as checking statements is burdensome etc. If you were an employye of mine I'd fire you on the spot. You are a liablilty.

Dean,
Must be a blast being inside your head. Serious. My sister-in-law is in Brisbane, when I finally slog down there we need to drink pints. Lots.

My point. Read in its entirety. Takes a few paragraphs to get there.

Thank you Mark. It's an interesting experment...turning up the heat and seeking controversial statements... because we all know despite the ability to delete a comment, and even know who is making it, there is a lack of accountability in that process and it unfortunately brings out the worst and arrogant in people.
Anonomous posting is no different today than what prank/harrasing phone calling was before Caller ID.
Now Finextra has to be in a more formidable position to "judge", you'll see. And what is approriate and not, is often in the eye of the beholder depending on political, social, economic, and other filters. You'll even find yourself on one side or the other of an issue and have the ability to influence the dialog.
Respect to the employed and needing anonymity to escape the wrath of a boss, but thats not why the majority go rouge. Most people say awful and stupid things because thats what they are.
Writers put it out there every day, "exposing themselves" to the world and subject to every idiots inner demon cloaked in cowardice anonymity.
How about a plugin where I can click an option where I could stretch my virtual arms into the worlds comment sections and choke the hell out of these trolls?
Should I "post anonymously" ? Then I can really say what I want. What fun that would be.
Just sayin'
