"final words on SEPA?" Did it flash forward to 2048 and no one told me? :-)

That is exactly my problem with this bank offering. I know Hello Kitty is big in Asia - and if this was just an offer to allow customer to adorn their cards with their favourite cartoon character...yes, I would not have had such as strong reaction to this.
Women are now "competent in many different roles in society" ??? I don't want to get into a whole freshman, womens' studies rant on the infantilsation of women. But this is not cultural difference, this is just horrid.
(PS: typo fixed!)

Combining mobile with an established payments infrastructure (it was said at EBADay, so it must be true) like PayPal? - THAT is mobile payments.

Good question. Why don't you add that to the Community Questions board?

Matt's right. People should understand that there are people that work at banks who would have to jump through 1,600 Corporate Communication hoops in order to post as themselves. Using 'anonymous' allows them to joing the conversation, without having to worry about 'clearance'.
This from a journo who 'if I had a nickle' for every person I have asked for a video interview from after listening to them speak at a public event, with a publicised Twitter hashtag, in a room full of people, including media, and taken questions from the auidience, only to be told "I'll have to clear this with corporate communications..." Sorry, I should let this go.

At Cartes last year, TFL said they were moving from a single application card (Oyster) to a multi-application system (one that will accept transit pass from MasterCard, Amex, Visa etc...) With this system, if a mobile is enabled with a transit pass function, such as MasterCard's PayPass, then they can use their mobile to pay for transit services. There is a Finextra video on this in the Live channel.

Hmm, be interesting to find out which trading systems they've decided to standardise on? Since they singled out foriegn exchange, and Thomson Reuters is known for offering tempting enterprise-wide licenses, not to mention practically inventing conversational dealing for the FX market... I wonder who the lucky provider is?

Yes, but is a pre-paid loyalty card. You measure the level of security against the risk. What would someone lose? What, like £10? It is worth it to Starbucks to shell out for a heavy duty barcode/PIN etc... security for a loyalty card?
This isn't a banking payments app which is connected to your bank account - that would require more robust security measures.
