They will probably use HFC NFC and bypass the Sim card for sure, which makes perfect sense, since they added NFC functionality along with Virtual Target Immulation mode in 2011, but MNOs rejected that. They have been working with Royal bank of Canada and MNOs to move payments forward, and their Blackberry Passport and Classic models are good, and I mean the Passport is really good, as well as Blackberry OS 10.

I delivered a presentation during January 22, 2015 to Seattle Cloud Security Alliance where I mention Microsoft would use Azure Cloud services on Nokia handsets to provision mobile payments using HCE NFC. Please see that video clip here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PChc-2VtICs I predicted Google would buy Softcard and that Microsoft would deploy Azure Cloud Services and Nokia Handset with HCE NFC. Microsoft has finally moved forward with mobile payments and I hope to work with them as they engage the Chinese markets.
Thanks,

Softcard should consider selling to Apple, not Google their payment network business. Google doesn't do hardware effectively, can not run a hardware businss and has bad PR in China, where all these mobile handsets come from. Google OS is about 70% of the whole World right now and most Softcard supported Smartphones use Android OS, which now uses HCE. On the otherhand, Apple and Softcard still care about tamper resistance, which means the secure element. SO, in my book, Google should cooperate with China UnionPay and OEMs. Softcard should cooperate with Apple and they will completely lock any competitors out of the USA market. BINGO!

Hello Alex,
Good post and also good feedback. Here is what I think, since I just delivered an HCE presentation in Seattle and uploaded it to You Tube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hxfivClqR3k, if anyone would like the slides, let me know.
I believe there needs to be a mobile device ecosystem specialist in the Chinese handset sector who can take the concept of a hybrid SWP NFC uSIM + HCE NFC Android OS (KitKat) Smartphone solution and drive the concept of a dual device to the OEM/ODM handset manufacturers in China and Taiwan to start working with Banks more agressively, and my previous expertise working @ Gemalto from 2008-2013 from Beijing, China performed this function with OEM Handset manufacturers.
Banks are not equipped to run with the ball and start courting Handset OEMs, MNOs will not do this, thus, I propose to evangelize pitching a hybrid designed Smartphone, and I'm looking for serious companies to hire me as am employee to do this. Any serious companies out there must realize what's going on again is a "Chicken and Egg" situation. Before it was MNOs and OEM Handset vendors, and now it appears to be Banks and CHinese OEM Handset manufacturers. I'm a master at bridging Western company mobile technologies with Greater CHinese OEM/ODM Smartphone/Tablet PC manufacturers for design-in and enablement of a new HCE NFC mobile payments ecosystem.
