Philip Hammond is putting his foot stronly into Fintech. If I am not mistaking, he's advisor and minority shareholder in Algbra app (eco friendly payments newcommer) as well not only Copper and OakNorth

Their first raise (700K chf) was almost 2 years ago. What are they raising now for if they're still yet to launch?

Automated compliance systems realy isn't something new. I think most of the top fintechs utilise these automated compliance systems, and they actually serve as the reason why many onboardings and customers transactions are frozen until picked up by human (probably, too less allocated resources in the result of automation). Will be interesting to see how they are going to be different once they roll out and start trading

Really keen to see whether they will disclose the price publicly. Interestingly, Flutterwave is an EMD Agent in UK, with Railsr being their regulated principal )))

It would be much more informative if the article contained the actual Tulipshare's proposal to PayPal. Curious to see their actual proposal. 'Cause based on those couple of examples above it's highly likely PP had good reasons for terminations. I wouldn't take neither side as likely there are hundreds of cases where PP is not fair suspeding/closing accounts but they are covering theirs to avoid potential fines (and that's business). But hey listen, they are FI, and we all have our share of stories where seemingly unfair treatment by banks of FIs has been applied without giving fair reason. And let's be honest - in most cases reasons will not be disclosed by bank/FI - aml & compliance stands above customer satisfaction, and that will stay so. Imagine if all suspended/terminated accounts could regain their access by going out to media... highly... unlikely

Hmm, sounds like TSB is criticising the PSR
A response to the £48 mil fine imposed to the TSB last month? :)
I read here that PSRs approach is not so bad after all

Valuations aer too high for many, and those who get valued higher than they should and get those nice offers in should rethink opportunities as they arise.
Slightly related comes to mind a case 15+ years ago (before Booking.com and AirBnb era) when a hotel owner was offered 8 mil for one hotel. Nose up in the air and declined that. Couple of years later went on to sell for mere 2 mil.

So Granger had a brief (or not so brief) experience at MC. With this appointment he's prob of different opinions with MC CEO Michael Miebach who teased some months ago that "SWIFT May Not Exist in 5 Years"...

It's quite simple Ketharaman - the company prob never intended to transfer up to £5K a month but was just a coverup entity with intention to do what they did from the beginning. £5K expected turnover was just an easy entry point to have a bank account. From there on with limited controls they used the service for their real intents whatever they were or were not. This is exactly the reason banks and FIs are required to constantly improve their aml controls

When it comes to consumers and daily spending habbits digital money is prob now a very important part of our lives, and its advantages are hard to ignore. It's much more convenient than cash, and tbh I don't remember last time I used cash rather Apple Pay
