Hmmm the younger digitally savvy generation use their phone for pretty much everything..... Many will also use their Garmin or samsung watches, or indeed their Apple watch to make payments.... This does sound like bit of a dated initiative from Visa and ADIB.... the time of wearables passed a while ago, but always nice to see vanity projects being launched to generate work in fintechs and to prompt conversation.

Go Cash Go !!!!! In the A10 Warthog, physical cables and rods existed to give the pilot a chance of getting home if a catastrophic impact or technical failure impacted digital or hydraulic systems.... Cash provides that back-up for commerce as well as providing alternatives for both Legal and Criminal activity.... I believe large category notes should be removed from circulation to prevent the latter, but the former need access to 20/50 and max 100 Euro/Dollar/Pound denominated notes... Who uses EUR500 or USD 1000 notes apart from MEPs and Criminals?

In addition to providing Sustainability Information, Klarna has another 'Look over here' approach - taken from Finextra after the disasterous Q3 Losses announcement - Klarna has moved to diversify its business from one which relies solely on credit to the creation of new shopping channels linking customers to merchants. As a result, the firm's marketing revenue is its fastest growing earner, rising 163% YoY by creating over 500m leads for Klarna’s 450,000+ global retail partners. Does this mean that the credit model is fundamentally broken and Klarna will become another PSP/Gateway co?

So Klarna are now becoming a marketing and advertising company.... I think this is an admission that the Pay-in-X model is not working?

How does Klarna define 'Active Shoppers'? i have used Klarna as a Credit card gateway when the Merchant Card handling frame was down.... does that make me an active shopper?

If i give a taxi driver a $10 or £10 cash payment, he can use it for fuel - he can buy a coffee, he can give it to his children to spend in retail outlets... that money can be used to pay the staff in the gas station, the barrista's serving coffee, or taken by the owner of the local newsagent.... at the end of these processes the £10 still exists...,. it has not been subject to repeated slices of commission.... first when i pay by card for my Taxi ride, or when the taxi driver pays for a coffee with Apple pay. or when his child pays for sweets or magazines in the corner shop.... £10 remains £10.

The economy requires a certain amount of available cash to function. Cash is the dominant means of payment within the euro area, as the clear majority of our daily payments are made using banknotes or coins. Cash is also essential for the inclusion of socially vulnerable citizens, such as the elderly or lower-income groups.
