In December the UK’s Faster Payments scheme will launch a new access model. With research showing a high level of interest in real-time payments among corporates, banks need to embrace the opportunities and revamp their tech or risk losing business, according to AccessPay.

AccessPay head of banking Simeon Parker and founder and chief architect Ali Moiyed run through the options available to banks.

I would agree with the speakers that banks have been slow to discuss these types of changes. The large banks I would expect to have these discussions however the community banks I would expect have very little ability to discuss and execute on this topic. Staffing would be a big concern, cost would scare most community banks and the major change in operations would be the biggest vhange for the banks. The unknown from the customer will be for the bank is will the bank lose their customers if they do not make the change. I believe we know the answer but you will never know that answer until you reach that moment.
