Bank of Scotland Investment Service today launches a-dayadvice.co.uk.

The website is designed to provide detailed but straightforward information on the new pensions simplification legislation which comes into force on 6 April 2006.

The aim of this new website is to provide a comprehensive on-line resource on A-Day and the effect of the planned changes to help people assess their pension situation and encourage them to take appropriate action.

Alan Jones, head of Bank of Scotland Investment Service, said: "With less than a year to go until the A-Day pensions revolution, there are still people who are unaware of the impact the new legislation could have on their pensions and retirement plans. This website will prove to be a useful resource for such people — presenting the key facts around A-Day in a clear and concise way.

It's essential that everyone who is paying into a pension fund is aware of the changes taking place next year and understands how they will be personally affected by A-Day. Anyone who is concerned should take professional advice now as steps can be taken to protect their current pension rights if necessary."
