Earthport appoints Calum Cunningham, MD; Nick Dunlop, commercial director

Earthport plc, the electronic payment services company, announces today the appointment of Calum Cunningham as Managing Director and Nick Dunlop as Commercial Director of earthport plc.

They are expected to join the Board in due course.

As Managing Director, Calum Cunningham, no relation to Rob Cunningham, will be in charge of the operational business of the group. Prior to joining earthport, Calum (44) was Group Chief Operating Officer at Digitalbrain PLC, Europe's largest supplier of knowledge management systems to the education sector, between 2002 and 2004, where he led the successful commercial negotiation of a £2.5m public sector contract, reduced losses of £3m to breakeven, increased core revenues by 80% and increased revenue per employee in excess of 100%. From 1993 to 2002, Calum worked at Intel in a variety of international roles. During this time he won an Intel International Achievement Award in 1997, which resulted in him being selected to set up a new subsidiary, Intel Performance Learning Systems, with seed capital of $500,000 to create new strategic value for the parent company. After three years with Calum as Managing Director, Intel Performance Learning Systems generated revenues of £10m.

As Commercial Director, Nick Dunlop will manage the interaction of the Company with clients, joint venture partners, distributors and agents and any other party from whom the Company expects to generate revenues. Prior to joining earthport, Nick (36) has most recently been a Director of FKJN Associates Ltd, which provides consultancy services to the telecommunications market. Previously Nick worked at Alcatel UK Ltd for 7 years, focusing on Fraud Management Systems and Operational Support Systems (OSS) culminating in the role of Director of Fraud Management Group and Director OSS UK and Ireland. Previously Nick held posts in Cable and Wireless and Applied IT Ltd.
