First Data Corporation, a global leader in electronic commerce and payment processing, today announced that it has extended its processing agreement with Raiffeisen Bank Polska SA and broadened the scope of its cooperation with the bank to include issuing and processing of chip-based credit cards. The expanded agreement enables Raiffeisen Bank to offer an advanced product with enhanced transaction security and functionality to cardholders.

"First Data has enjoyed a long and successful cooperation with Raiffeisen Bank Polska, an important banking sector client for our business in Poland," said Grzegorz Dlugosz, a member of the management board at First Data Poland SA. "Since the start of our cooperation in 2000, we have gradually expanded the range of services we deliver to the bank and this extended agreement shows the strength of our collaboration to date. I am delighted that Raiffeisen has chosen First Data to implement its new offerings as part of this broadened agreement."

First Data recently implemented a Web Data Access eXchange (WDX) solution for Raiffeisen Bank Polska SA that enables the bank's customers to access a range of bank services online. Cardholders can view information such as credit card balances, card payment and transaction history and perform card activations using a variety of communication channels such as the Internet and a mobile phone.

"Our partnership with First Data allows us to enhance our service offering and leverage modern and secure solutions to offer our customers a comprehensive and competitive offer," said Richard Drużyński, vice president of Raiffeisen Bank Poland SA. "The new technology delivered by First Data will help us to increase transaction security and access new features that will enable us to improve the customer experience. Together with First Data, we can offer the best solutions to our customers."
