Tieto has achieved the ISO 9001:2008 quality standard for its Cards business in Latvia, demonstrating continuous commitment to high standards of quality in its operations.

The audit covered the processes for developing solutions for payment card issuing, acquiring and processing, as well as payment card system integration, consultancy and training.

Tieto was rated well in all areas, from development, implementation and support to customer satisfaction and partnerships. Especially the cooperation and governance model with partners received positive attention. The audit was performed by Bureau Veritas Certification.

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2008 specifies requirements for a quality management system where an organization needs to demonstrate its ability to consistently provide product that meets customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements. Furthermore the aim is to enhance customer satisfaction through the effective application of the system, including processes for continual improvement of the system and the assurance of conformity to customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.

Maris Ozolins, Director of Cards at Tieto Financial Services, says: "Quality is one of Tieto's core values and we are constantly working on improving our efficiency, competence and the way we co-operate with our customers. The ISO certification demonstrates that we are moving forward in our quality commitments to our customers."
