Dow Jones and Sinara team for news delivery and integration

Dow Jones Newswires EMEA has launched a suite of news integration tools, developed by London-based software firm Sinara Consultants, that allow customers to receive, integrate and store news and information directly into internal IT systems.

Dow Jones says the set of three tools - news collector, news manager and news viewer - will handle the full range of its news feed and store data in real-time in a client's database system.

Mike Bergmeijer, vice president, international sales and marketing for Dow Jones Newswires, says clients are increasingly looking for alternatives to the traditional vendor and aggregator solutions currently available on the market.

"Clients now have a risk-free, ready-made and truly cost-effective solution for integrating Dow Jones Newswires' outstanding news content into corporate systems for delivery directly to users' desks," he adds.

The news manager system allows users to collect and catergorise stories by news codes and news ticker symbols, as well as by story links and filtering. The news viewer tool contains web applications that enable clients to build customised Web sites without having to write news-handling software.

Steve Dobb, director of product strategy, Sinara, comments: "Our use of standard database and web technologies significantly reduces the cost and effort needed for IT departments to integrate the news content."
