InputAccel is a document capture system that converts data from paper and faxes into a format which can be used in back-end systems, including XML, image files and custom transaction.

Captiva says that since deploying the system, ABN Amro has doubled its processing to 75,000 mortgage files a month, which is over 600,000 pages of information per day.

William Brinkman, assistant vice president, ABN Amro Services, comments: "Whereas previously we had to stop scanning when we encountered unusual mortgage applications known as 'capture exceptions', with InputAccel, these exceptions are no longer a bottleneck in our process pipeline."

ABN Amro adds that the system has eliminated the need to outsource parts of its mortgage application process.
