Turkish bank TEB has developed a Google Glass app, enabling wearers to find ATMs and branches and track credit card campaigns.
TEB (Turkish Economy Bank) says that with mobile banking now the norm, it wants to bring its Cepteteb platform to the world of wearable tech, beginning with Glass.
The bank estimates that 50 million wearable tech devices will be sold this year, rising to 500 million in 2018.
Currently the market is dominated by smartwatches but other options are on the horizon. This week it emerged that Sony has filed a US patent application for "SmartWig" hairpieces.
Banks are trying to figure out how they can take advantage of the new trend. Spain's Banco Sabadell has opened up to third party developers, one of which has built an ATM location app. Meanwhile, Fidelity Investments is working on a tool that lets users keep an eye on the markets.
