"Outdated, cumbersome legacy and proprietary POS systems simply aren't meeting the needs of today's merchants, especially those looking to prepare for the coming EMV transition," said Jeffrey Dumbrell, CEO, PowaPOS. "With this partnership, PowaPOS and iConnect make it easy to replace those systems and have all the power, sophistication and security of the most advanced integrated POS system on the market."

The PowaPOS T-Series is the first POS platform that integrates all major tablet platforms, with a high-speed printer, 2D barcode/QR code scanner, cash drawer, EMV payment terminal and multiple expansion ports, together in an attractive, all-in-one space saving form-factor. The optional PowaPIN is the world's smallest EMV chip-and-pin acceptance device.

iConnect's iOS tablet software provides merchants with consolidated services, fully customizable for merchant needs. Features include inventory tracking, employee management, multiple language and multi-location support, real-time reporting, CRM, email and text message marketing. iConnect also supports online booking and appointments, appointment reminders and confirmations.

"The traditional payments ecosystem is inefficient and expensive," said Subodh Gupta, founder and president of iConnect. "With a program designed for ISOs and personalized by merchants, PowaPOS and iConnect POS will deliver a greater value proposition with an out-of-the-box solution that simplifies the demands of running a company. With this powerful partnership, merchants can be up and running in as little as a single day."

Combined, iConnect and PowaPOS create a unique, even more robust experience for merchants and customers. "Features like the Powa Orientation Sensor, which allows vendors to trigger a different customer facing view when the T-25 is rotated, combined with iConnect's branding customization, allow merchants to fully configure their own POS experience," continued Dumbrell.

POS Portal, which recently became a US distribution partner for PowaPOS, will provide the PowaPOS/iConnect solution to merchants. POS Portal provides merchant-ready mPOS solutions to the merchant customers of software developers, independent sales organizations, processors and agents.

"Partnerships like this are essential for meeting the momentum behind tablet-based POS systems," said Buzz Stryker, CEO, POS Portal. "Being able to provide hardware like the groundbreaking PowaPOS platform combined with iConnect's tablet software will help us meet the growing demand from our customers who want to provide tomorrow's payments solution today."
