Swift names Javier Pérez-Tasso marketing executive

Swift, the financial messaging provider for more than 10,000 financial institutions and corporations in 212 countries and territories, announced today that Javier Pérez-Tasso has been appointed its new Marketing Executive, reporting to the CEO, Gottfried Leibbrandt.

In his new role, Javier will lead a global organisation responsible for developing and implementing strategic initiatives that drive growth across SWIFT's business lines. His team will focus on both consolidating SWIFT's strong position in core areas, including correspondent banking, clearing and settlement and market infrastructures, as well as growing market share in related areas, such as sanctions, reference data, matching and cloud services.

Javier joins SWIFT's Executive Committee from his previous role as Head of Products and Services, where he led an international team steering the evolution of SWIFT's platform and reducing the total cost of ownership (TCO) for customers. Prior to that he held various other positions at SWIFT, including Head of Western Europe, Middle East and Africa, where he built a new team across six offices and contributed to the growth of a region that now accounts for approximately 35% of SWIFT business.

I am delighted to lead a team that will continue to innovate while at the same time maintain the world class level of excellence our customers expect."

Javier joined SWIFT in 1995 and holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble, an MBA from Solvay Business School, a Master in Finance from IE Business School and the Executive TGM from Insead.

Javier is Spanish and will be based at SWIFT's headquarters in Belgium.
