This is a beautiful write-up however the first comment caught my attention. I don't know which country or region the commentator is from but where I come from, Remittance is big business. Some banks and fintechs partner with remittance companies to drive the business. The trend in Ghana has shifted from queueing at banking halls to terminating to the customer's account or mobile wallet, which has allowed remittance companies like Western Union, MoneyGram, wave, etc) to form partnerships with banks and fintechs to complete the value chain. The banks also earn foreign exchange income as the remittance companies settle in USD, GBP, Euro, etc. The banks also see it as an avenue to open accounts for customers who come to their banking halls so there are always opportunities as far as remittance is concerned.
