Hemscott (LSE:HEM) has launched a free Short Message Service (SMS) financial news alert service, in association with Microsoft Windows Mobile.

The SMS service allows investors to follow news stories and monitor relevant companies, by receiving text alerts straight to their mobile phones. An investor is able to set up SMS news alerts on all UK registered companies listed on the London Stock Exchange.

Users can enable SMS alerts for up to five companies, with the first 50 SMS text messages free of charge, as part of a no obligation trial courtesy of Windows Mobile. After the first 50 messages, users will then be asked to opt in to receive further chargeable messages.

The new SMS service is the result of combining the technology of Microsoft Mobile, the UK top provider of mobile services, and the unrivalled financial resource provided by Hemscott, empowering investors with access to the most up to date information whilst on the go. Weather investors are in transition, travelling, or on vacation they will still be able to receive the very latest breaking news.
