On the heels of its recent raise of $31 million in Series B funding this year, Securrency, Inc., a leading developer of institutional-grade blockchain-based financial and regulatory technology, announced the appointment of MonaLisa Raas Como as Chief Commercial Officer and Bill Ashlock as Chief Technology Officer.

Como and Ashlock join Securrency at a critical juncture in its growth, following a Series B funding round featuring participation by WisdomTree Investments, State Street, Abu Dhabi Catalyst Partners Limited (ADCP), and U.S. Bank, among other investors.

Dan Doney, CEO of Securrency, said, “The expertise in financial operations and technology that MonaLisa and Bill bring to our team will be instrumental in advancing Securrency’s mission to optimize financial logistics and building on the strong foundations of its digital asset ecosystem moving forward. We are delighted to have these talented professionals step into important leadership roles within our company. At an enormously exciting time for Securrency, our new CCO and CTO will play critical roles in our success as we continue to transform the core of investment banking and financial markets worldwide.”

Como’s reputation as a dynamic and experienced executive spans both the financial services and financial technology industries. Prior to joining Securrency, Como was a key player at E*TRADE, TD Ameritrade, and Capital One Investing. In March 2020, she co-founded InterPares Partners, a boutique management consulting firm that she continues to work with. Como sits on the board of Bring Change 2 Mind, Women’s Business Collaborative, and Agora Brands Group. An active member of industry associations, Como was involved in the DTCC’s Shortened Settlement Cycle Committee, Dematerialization Committee, and SIFMA’s Clearing Committee, and Operations Society.

“Dan Doney and John Hensel deliberately built a dynamic team committed to disruption via scalable, borderless, compliant solutions. I am thrilled to be a part of the Securrency team moving the dial on innovating financial markets infrastructure,” said Como.

Newly appointed CTO, Ashlock, brings decades of experience in banking systems, crypto token exchange and clearing, and digital transformation. He brings a well-earned reputation as a visionary, having delivered transformation and innovation for individuals, SMEs, corporates, employees, and organizations, including Anglo-Gulf Trade Bank, DBS, Bank of America, Merrill Lynch, Standard Chartered Bank, ANZ, SetClear, ABN Amro, and Orora. In addition, Ashlock is a Principal at BOSA Advisors, a fintech transformation advisor, and also makes time to serve as a Mentor at The Founder Institute.

“The chance to join a winning team building the vital rails of the digital asset economy was one I could not pass up,” Ashlock affirms. “Leading Securrency’s technology strategy at this growth stage as we supercharge development of the core platform and continue to expand our roster of world-class developers represents an amazing opportunity to be a part of a success story as it emerges.”

As part of the expansion of its global team, Securrency has made several new hires to support its rapid development, including Reid McLaughlin, Securrency’s new Director of Data Analytics, Dennis O’Connell as Director of Blockchain & Innovation, and Jesse Guild appointed as Director of Customer Solutions. To accelerate technological innovation during this next stage of growth, Securrency has added more software engineers and developers to its team. Securrency is currently recruiting for a range of engineering roles.

Securrency is also building out its regulated financial services companies in the US and in Abu Dhabi, recently bringing on board world-class talent to lead these businesses. Tarey Gettys will lead Securrency Securities (S2), a US FINRA-licensed broker-dealer, and Amir Tabch has taken the helm of Securrency Solutions Limited (SSL), a Category 3a brokerage licensed in the Abu Dhabi Global Market. Supporting Tabch at SSL will be Phil Langton as Head of Operations and Praveer Pinto as Compliance Officer.
