Nutmeg, the online investment management service, has today announced the appointment of Scott Eblen as Chief Product Officer.

Scott joins Nutmeg from Google where he spent over six years developing products, including a recent initiative on financial search ads.

Nick Hungerford, co-founder and CEO at Nutmeg commented: “Nutmeg is a business with technology at its heart so we are thrilled to welcome Scott to the team. His experience working at Google, along with his passion and vision for developing compelling products, will be immensely valuable as we expand and enrich our customer experience. We don't think - or want to think - about product design like other financial services companies; we want to surprise and delight. Nutmeg will launch a number of fantastic new products this year, starting with the Nutmeg personal pension, which is going to create an investing experience unlike any other pension product. Scott will ensure that we continue to raise the standards and break new ground creating a brilliant investment experience for all of our customers.”

With a Computer Science degree from Princeton University, Scott worked on Google Offers and Gmail, where he launched their first iOS app. Prior to Google he led the product management team at Library House, a Cambridge based start-up that developed an online data service for tracking high-tech and high-growth companies across Europe. He also worked at Microsoft in the US on the development of the Sharepoint Portal Server.

Commenting on the appointment, Scott said: “I am excited to be here at Nutmeg. It’s a dynamic and fast-growing business that is leading dramatic change in the wealth management industry. The online user experience is exceptional and provides needed transparency which can empower everyone to make good investments. I look forward to taking Nutmeg’s product offering to a new level throughout 2015 and beyond.”
