Callataÿ & Wouters, a global leader in core banking software and services, is proud to announce its second project in Poland in less than half a year.

Integrator Wincor Nixdorf and Callataÿ & Wouters will work together to implement the Thaler software platform for Polish retail banking group Bank Polskiej Spółdzielczości (BPS).

BPS is the result of a 2002 merger of five Polish banks. Headquartered in Warsaw, it has a network of about 80 branches that serve consumers, small- to medium-sized businesses as well as corporate clients, with the bulk of its offices located in Southeastern Poland. In 2011, BPS decided to modernize its IT and software infrastructure.

"BPS came to us with the challenge of streamlining the bank's core banking processes," recalls Adam Matyaszek, Vice-President of the Board from integrator Wincor Nixdorf Poland, "As a group of many cooperative banks, BPS's IT systems had evolved disparately and organically. They needed a more comprehensive end-to-end solution that they could later edit themselves, and offered self-management and reporting modules, among others. We felt that Callataÿ & Wouters would fit that bill with its Thaler software."

"Out of the options that were on the table," says Krzysztof Jagielski, Vice-President of the Board of BPS, "By far Callataÿ & Wouters' Thaler software impressed us the most. Key factors in our decision were Thaler's flexibility, regulation compliance, proven track record and the ability to modify the source code to our needs."

Marc De Groote, CEO of Callataÿ & Wouters, adds: "After our first project in Poland for direct bank BZGOptima, we're excited to work for a retail bank from the same country. Together with Wincor Nixdorf, we are dedicated to making this another milestone."
