Transaction Network Services (NYSE:TNS) has extended its presence in Europe by connecting to Nyse Euronext's Secure Financial Trading Infrastructure (SFTI) network in Europe.

The deal will see TNS provide essential connectivity services via its Secure Trading Extranet, which connects over 1,500 financial community end-points, representing buy-side and sell-side institutions, market data and software vendors, exchanges and alternative trading venues.

SFTI Europe is operated by NYSE Technologies, NYSE Euronext's innovative commercial technology business, and provides financial market participants with access to NYSE Euronext's exchanges and other European market centres for market data and trading.

John Owens, Vice President of Exchanges and ECNs for TNS' Financial Services Division, said: "The connection made with SFTI Europe opens up new avenues for TNS in the European marketplace. This new agreement will enable TNS customers to gain connectivity to additional venues including the NYSE Euronext markets.

"Via our Secure Trading Extranet, TNS is now able to give new and existing customers greater choice when considering how to connect to this venue, enabling them to achieve high speed, highly fault tolerant, secure and cost effective connectivity."
