"Penkių kontinentų" Bankinės technologijos (BS/2), member of the "Penki kontinentai" group, introduces a new and high-sophisticated cash recycling system onto the Lithuanian and part of the Eastern European market - the Wincor Nixdorf ProCash 4000.

Among other features, the device is especially designed for disabled people and offers functionalities such as cash dispensing and cash acceptance and allows different banking transactions to be carried out. However, the most important feature is the fact that it "recognizes" the money deposited and returns it to circulation (cash recycling).

"There were no ATMs at this level of sophistication in Lithuania and most of the Eastern European countries before. There are devices which accept cash, but they do not return it to circulation. When the banknote cassettes of the ATM are full, they must be replaced by empty ones." explains Mantas Baršys, Head of the Marketing department of BS/2., and further adds that the replacement of empty banknote cassettes with full ones and full cassettes with empty ones are among the most expensive aspects of operating an ATM. The ProCash 4000 allows banks to minimize those costs.

According to Barsys, the ProCash 4000 will be marketable both in Lithuania, where banks have recently begun to installing ATMs with cash deposit modules, and in other Baltic and Eastern European countries.

The ProCash 4000 further meets the latest safety requirements, it recognizes banknotes of 120 different denominations and can contain a total of up to 12.5 thousand banknotes.
